Frequently asked questions
Does Reachable By contact my client, or my client's web team, directly?+
No. We only ever send scan reports and notifications to your own account email — the person who signed up. We have no way to reach anyone else on your behalf, whether that's a client whose site you're monitoring, their developer, or that site's visitors. Sharing a report with someone else is entirely your call, made outside the Service.
What does Reachable By actually check?+
We load the real, JavaScript-rendered page in a browser and run it against WCAG 2.2 AA checks using axe-core, the same engine behind most professional accessibility audits. Every finding gets a plain-English explanation and a WCAG reference — not just a rule ID.
Is a passing scan a guarantee my site is compliant?+
No. Automated testing typically catches 30–50% of WCAG success criteria. A clean scan means the checks we run didn't find anything — it's a strong first signal, not a certification, and not a substitute for manual testing with real assistive technology.
What's the difference between adding a new site and adding a page?+
A site is a new, independent entry on your Sites list — its own card, its own favorite toggle. A page (added from inside an existing site's detail view, via "Add another page") is a specific URL you want checked separately within that same site — like "/pricing" or "/contact" — with its own scan history, but grouped under the site it belongs to instead of cluttering your main list.
How often are my sites re-scanned?+
On Starter, Agency, and Enterprise plans, we automatically re-scan each site roughly weekly and email you a summary afterward. Free-plan scans are manual, with a 30-day cooldown between scans.
Where do the due dates in Schedule come from?+
They're our suggestion, not a legal deadline. When we first find an issue we give it a fix date by severity: blockers within 7 days, serious within 30, minor within 90 — so the things that stop people outright get fixed first. Overdue means that date has passed and the issue is still open.
Do I get a PDF report automatically, or do I have to download it myself?+
You get an email automatically, but the PDF itself is on demand. After each scheduled re-scan, we email your account a summary of every site checked that run — open issues by severity, what's new or resolved since last time, and a link into the dashboard for each site. You can download the full PDF report — executive summary, accessibility health score, numbered findings, clear next steps — for any past scan from the site's detail page whenever you want it. On paid plans there's also a remediation history PDF: a dated record of every check, every fix and what's still open, to show a client, a lawyer or a regulator that you've been acting.
Who can see my scan results?+
Only you, signed into your own account. We don't publish results anywhere unless you explicitly enable a public feature yourself, like the embeddable status badge or the public accessibility statement page for a specific site.
How do I cancel or delete my account?+
From Settings, at any time. Deleting your account removes your account data; deleting an individual site removes its scan history immediately.
A check says the site blocked your scanner — what now?+
Some sites sit behind bot protection (Cloudflare, DataDome and similar) that turns away automated visitors, including accessibility checks. We don't try to sneak past it. Whoever runs the site can let us through with one rule — we name the protection we ran into, and the steps are on our scanner page.
Is there an iPhone and iPad app?+
Yes — a native app for the same account is coming to the App Store. It shows every client's status, what changed since the last scan and what's due this week, lets you send the PDF report from your phone, and can notify you when a weekly re-scan finds something new. Plans are managed here on the web.
Is there a free way to try it?+
Yes — paste a URL on our homepage for an instant, no-login preview of the three most severe issues we find. A free account gets one full scan with a 30-day re-scan cooldown.
